Hi-Rez Studios, the team behind the free to play multiplayer shooter, Tribes : Ascend, have just doled out another round of updates to their game, which is currently in an open beta.

Most notably, Hi-Rez are launching several new servers. These new servers, which went online recently, will affect Tribes : Ascend players in London (Europe), Amsterdam (also Europe) and in Asian territories, the servers will benefit players in Japan and Singapore.

These new servers, in conjunction with the "performance optimisations" that the Tribes : Ascend studio has been working on, will give the game a smoother way of playing, hopefully equaling 100% lag-free play.

Alongside the spiffy new servers and the usual balance alterations and bug fixes, Hi-Rez have also included these improvements :

· Added Sunstar, a new Capture the Flag map.
· Temple Ruins, a Capture the Flag map, has been revised based on community feedback and returns to the Quick Play rotation.
· More polished reticules and HUD icons. Also, users may now disable unwanted HUD elements using SETTINGS menu.
· User settings now stored server-side. Setting may be reset with this patch but settings should be preserved upon future patches.
