The usually quite sane, albeit arcadey fun of Battlefield Heroes is centered around the darling proposition that you are a World War 2 soldier. The gameplay is fast-paced, energetic and is everything you could possibly want from a free-to-play, shoot-em-up MMO.

This month, EA are kicking the fun level of Battlefield Heroes up a notch, with a giant update that not only includes new weapons and brand spanking new outfits for your Battlefield Heroes character(s), but also sends said character(s) to the moon.

The new space exploration gameplay comes in the form of the new 'Lunar Landing' map which will have you, along with 11 million of your fellow Battlefield Heroes playing cohorts utilising the low gravity to bounce around the environment as you use the superior bit of physics to "outsmart" your enemies by base jumping from high above and cutting their lives short whilst they least expect it.

With the new map comes the aforementioned outfits and weapons. Bundled with the level, these include 'space explorer' and 'spacesuit' outfits for you to deck your character in as they are firing away with the new weaponry in the form of various "laser-based weapons" including "high-powered plasma blasters" - all of which are now at your disposal as the Battlefield Heroes update has just gone live.
